Your January 28 Rangers transfer window update. There are updates on Jefte, Kieran Dowell, Tom Lawrence, Hamza Igamane, Nikola Katic, Emmanuel Dennis and Rabbi Matondo.
Shock Chelsea interest in Jefte
The shock news this week is that Chelsea are looking at Rangers left-back Jefte and plotting a potential bid.
Reports from Brazil suggest the Premier League giants are monitoring the 20-year-old and are willing to wait until the summer if they can’t get anything done before the January transfer deadline.
Jefte has previously been credited with an ambition to play in England while selling him on would show Rangers mean business with player trading, as with Hamza Igamane.

Dowell exits Rangers on loan
Kieran Dowell has completed his loan move out of Rangers, things moving quickly since Birmingham’s interest emerged on Sunday.
The midfielder told how Blues manager, and former Celtic coach, Chris Davies sold him on the move.
Dowell moves to the English League One leaders until the end of the season and it has been reported there is no purchase option.
Tom Lawrence latest
Tom Lawrence has already been linked with a move this month with Ipswich Town and Besiktas among the clubs said to be interested.
A fresh report states Rangers are expected to shift Lawrence before the deadline with a number of clubs in the English Championship and abroad looking.
Igamane on Tottenham radar
Tottenham were this week strongly linked with Hamza Igamane, with claims they had been scouting him in recent games and looking at potentially doing a deal.
The chat around it has intensified with Ange Postecoglou in need of reinforcements amid an injury crisis and terrible form.
“I’m not out there trying to find opportunities for the club, that’s not my role at this time,” Postecoglou told the Guardian. “There isn’t time to do it.
“I have daily communication with Johan in particular and he’s trying everything he possibly can to get the help we need.
“I don’t think I’m stating anything other than the obvious and for me to come here and say something else would be disingenuous: this playing group needs help, there’s no doubt about that.
“We’re sort of playing with fire by not bringing anyone in. But the flip side of that is the club is trying to change that situation.”
Katic situation clarified
It was claimed in some outlets that Rangers had made an offer for former player Nikola Katic.
However, it is believed that is not the case despite interested being previously reported.
In any case, Zurich have been told not to be bullied into allow the Bosnian to return to Ibrox on the cheap.
Dennis on Rangers radar
Emmanuel Dennis is a name known to Rangers supporters and is once again being mentioned as a potential target.
Gers were thought to be interested in the striker last year but he ended up joining Watford on loan instead.
Now, Nottingham Forest are making him available for loan again and Gers are one of the teams in the race along with the Hornets and Sheffield Wednesday.
Dennis has actually played under Philippe Clement before and fell foul of him over breaking of club rules.
Matondo should still leave
Rangers are still trying to move Rabbi Matondo out the door after his Coventry transfer fell apart.
They are expected to still be able to do so with negotiations ongoing with other Championship clubs plus interest from abroad from the likes of Nantes in France and Torino and Lecce in Italy.
