As Rangers look to replace the influence of Ryan Kent, the club have been linked with two wingers in particular in the shape of Morgan Whittaker and Luis Palma.
Whilst both players have different backgrounds – English winger Morgan Whittaker coming through at Derby County and young Honduran Luis Palma coming through at Vida in his homeland – they share similar profiles.

Both are in their early twenties, have decent attacking pedigree and – most importantly for Rangers – appear ready to take the next steps in their development and their careers.
Morgan Whittaker Rangers links persist since January
Morgan Whittaker is a known target of Rangers’ from the January window, with Ibrox manager Michael Beale directly admitting to a bid following the winger’s recall from Plymouth to Swansea.
The Championship side wanted to assess the 22-year-old following a blistering first half of the season with the Pilgrims but the move didn’t go as planned for all parties.
The entire thing unsettled Whittaker, who by his own admission suffered as a result, and the winger’s game-time was severely limited in the second half of the season.
Reports claim that Rangers still retain an interest in Morgan Whittaker, but that the Ibrox side will face competition with Plymouth and Sunderland also linked.
Luis Palma reportedly a summer target
Luis Palma’s situation is slightly different in that the Aris attacker, who is currently plying his trade in the Greek Super League, is reportedly wanted around Europe.
More than that, the latest surrounding the attacker suggests that any Palma transfer fee will be split three ways between Vida, the 23-year-old’s agency and the player’s current club Aris, therefore inflating the fee.
According to reports, Rangers have had a £2.5m bid rejected for Luis Palma with the Greeks demanding £4.4m and we’ll need to wait and see how this saga progresses over the coming weeks.
Whatever the case, both Luis Palma and Morgan Whittaker are being extensively linked to Rangers at a time when £7m winger Ryan Kent is about to walk out the door for nothing.
Extensively linked to Fenerbahce, Rangers didn’t get enough from Ryan Kent at the end of his Ibrox career and the club will hope the fresh enthusiasm of whoever replaces him brings greater rewards.
