Rangers boss Michael Beale has rejected claims from Fabrizio Romano that the Ibrox side have made a third bid of £2m for Swansea attacker Morgan Whittaker.

The Gers have been extensively linked with a move for the 22-year-old forward throughout January after the Championship side recalled the attacker from an impressive loan spell at Plymouth Argyle.

Whilst there has been some conjecture regarding official bids, it is clear Morgan Whittaker is a player Rangers are interested in and Michael Beale has been discussing the reports in the press.

Speaking after Fabrizio Romano claimed that Rangers have made a £2m offer for the attacker, the latest coming out of Ibrox suggests that this is “well out”.

Michael Beale was discussing the Rangers links to Morgan Whittaker alongside high-profile interest in Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin, with reports also claiming Rangers have made an offer for the Belgian.

“What I can say is that all the fees, ‘we’ve offered this, we’ve offered that’, them prices are way out,” said Michael Beale [Rangers].

“Way higher on one and way lower on the other, so I’ll let you surmise amongst yourselves which that is, but it’s nowhere near what you’re thinking.

“The biggest thing is that they’re good players. We don’t want to bring in bad players, we want to bring in good players and the clubs they play for don’t want to let them go.”

So far Rangers have only brought Todd Cantwell into the club this January and with around 48 hours remaining all eyes are on Ibrox heading into the final few days of the window.

Rangers boss Michael Beale insists the club are working hard behind the scenes to get deals done but it seems not is all as it appears with Morgan Whittaker and Swansea.

Meanwhile, here’s the latest on Nicolas Raskin.
