It’s no secret Rangers need defenders going into next season. Especially at centre-half.
Joe Worrall’s been sent back to Nottingham Forest, whilst Gareth McAuley is unlikely to be offered a new deal.
Both players will have relished their time at Ibrox. McAuley scooped an MBE and lived a childhood dream during his time at the club. Worrall was utterly taken aback by life in Glasgow, in the best possible way.

But now the two defenders look to be on their way and Rangers must replace them. Are these the three names we’re looking at?
George Edmundson
There’s been a lot said about the Oldham defender over the last few weeks. Rangers reportedly had a bid rejected [Daily Mail], and another [Herald], before Edmundson reportedly handed in a transfer request [Sky Sports News].
The latest news is that we’re back in for the player [Scottish Sun]. Rangers clearly admire the 21-year-old.

Martin Skrtel
One of those transfer stories that has never gone away since Gerrard took over. Fresh reports have emerged suggesting we’re still very much interested in the big Slovakian [Asist Analiz]. With his contract expiring at Fenerbahce, it would come down to any wages.
But can we afford the former Liverpool stalwart?

John Souttar
One of the country’s highest-rated centre-halves, the Daily Record kicked up a bit of a stink when the Hearts defender was linked to Ibrox earlier in the year. Craig Levein certainly didn’t like it.
Word on the street is Hearts want at least £3m for the player [Daily Record] – are Rangers being priced out of a move?
