Sky Sports News reports that George Edmundson has taken matters into his own hands at Oldham Athletic.
It’s claimed that the 21-year-old handed in a transfer request on Saturday, in an effort to force a move.

That’s after the Gers had a bid of approximately £500,000, rejected.
However, the Latics aren’t budging just yet. The report claims they are holding out for double that – £1 million.
Clearly, there’s a significant disparity between those fees.
Yet, there looks to be potential for a bidding war which could see the offers soon increase.
The Scottish Sun reports that Championship clubs Wigan, Stoke, and Derby are all watching on with interest.

Verdict
£500,000 to £1 million is a significant leap and it will be interesting to see how far Rangers are prepared to go to secure Edmundson.
After loan spells in the National League, 2018/19 was very much his breakout campaign.
He made a big impression, though, being named Oldham’s Player of the Season, while also earning a spot in the League Two Team of the Season.
Considering the Gers forked out a reported £2 million for the similarly inexperienced Nikola Katic last season [Sky Sports], they might just be willing to up the ante in this pursuit.
With Joe Worrall already saying his Ibrox goodbyes, Gerrard needs defensive reinforcements.
