The Scottish Sun reports that Rangers are ‘confident a deal can be done’ for George Edmundson.

Despite it being his first full season in the EFL, he was named in the League Two Team of the Season and honoured as the Latics’ Player of the Season.

It’s unsurprising, then, that he’s attracted attention from elsewhere.
Championship sides Wigan, Stoke, and Derby are all said to be interested. However, it’s Rangers who’re testing out Oldham’s resolve with a series of bids.
The Scottish Sun reports an initial bid of £400,000 was rejected, as was a second one in the region of £500,000 over the weekend. In response to these bids, Edmundson handed is said to have handed in a transfer request [Sky Sports].

Now, the Gers are apparently readying a third bid.
The report also claims the player is ‘keen on a move to Glasgow, tallying with club insider Four Lads Had a Dream’s revelation some weeks back that he’d been given a tour of the Hummel Training Centre.
Surely Oldham will soon stop playing hardball, and cash in on their 6ft 3″ homegrown talent?
The Gers are certainly testing their nerve.
