Rangers have reportedly had another bid rejected for Oldham Athletic defender George Edmundson.
The Ibrox club is reportedly very interested in bringing the 21-year-old to Glasgow. So much so they lodged a £450k bid last week, which was rejected by the Greater Manchester side [Daily Mail].
And now, according to the Herald, Rangers have had their latest £500k offer for the player knocked back too.

Edmundson is clearly considering moving on from Oldham Athletic, with the centre-half reportedly rejecting a new deal with the club [Daily Record].

This has also reportedly lead Edmundson to hand in a transfer request [Sky Sports News]. Rangers have reiterated that they won’t be held to ransom over the player [Daily Record].
Whilst Edmundson is young, he is currently playing in English League Two. Oldham also poses a considerably different challenge to Rangers.

The inference here is that while Rangers are willing to deal, Oldham must respect the fact that the move represents a risk.
And whilst Edmundson has been compared to former Oldham and current England centre back James Tarkowski [Daily Record], he’s still some way to go to becoming the finished article.
