Rangers will have to pay at least £3m to take John Souttar to Ibrox, according to a Daily Record report.
The highly-rated Hearts stopper was first linked with a move to Ibrox last month [Daily Record]. He has also been linked with a range of Championship clubs.
The 22-year-old defender is far from the finished product but is tipped to go far in the game. And investing £3m now might seem a lot, but it could bring dividends in the future.

The former Dundee United youth was first linked to Rangers earlier in the season. Questions on the player’s future brought a frustrated response from Hearts coach Craig Levein.
The Hearts boss claimed that the centre-back wouldn’t want a move to Rangers, before storming out of a press conference.
The move for Souttar makes a sense given Rangers recent transfer policy. Souttar knows the Scottish Premiership, and playing in a more commanding team could respond well to taking a step up.
The Gers have also signed fellow Premiership stars Glen Kamara, Jordan Jones and Jake Hastie, whilst former captain Steven Davis is very familiar with the league up here.
But none of these pre-contract moves have represented quite the outlay. The reported asking price of £3m represents a significant outlay for Souttar, but with the likes of Premier League hopefuls Derby reportedly loitering, there’s no guarantee he could wind up at Ibrox.
