Rangers look set to spend this summer as the club look to build a squad and sign some names capable of dominating Scottish football.
Dave King pledged that all season ticket money would go into improving the side. A 5% increase on season ticket prices is set to boost the coffers.
That means Rangers will likely have a budget of close to £20m to improve the side. And there’s already plenty of transfer talk underway. Here’s what the papers are saying.

IN
Jake Hastie (Motherwell)
Seemingly edging ever closer to completion, the 20-year-old Motherwell winger is an exciting prospect. He’s well built, fast and knows where the goal is. But we’ve seen this deal fall through once before, so it’s not over until it’s over.
Former Gers captain Lee McCulloch described signing the player on a pre-contract as “a cracking deal” [originally Evening Times].

John Souttar (Hearts)
As Steven Gerrard looked set to with Graeme Shinnie, Frank Lampard is reportedly about to pip the Rangers boss to another high profile Scottish signing.
Questions on Rangers reported interest in John Souttar forced Craig Levein to walk out of a press conference. But Derby are reportedly willing to pay £5m for the stopper [originally TEAMtalk].
Rangers would be mugs to invest that much in a player who’s not quite the complete package yet. But could it all be paper talk?

Greg Stewart (Aberdeen, on-loan from Birmingham City)
Things have gone a little cold on this one, at least in the press. But that doesn’t mean Rangers have pulled out of their interest in the forward. The Ibrox said were said to have pipped Aberdeen to Stewart’s signature at the beginning of April [originally Daily Record].
It’s a move which has split Rangers fans and Stewart isn’t the biggest of names, but you can’t deny the forward player’s Scottish Premiership prowess. It very much feels like no news is good news with this one.
A lack of talk in the press might have something to do with current club Aberdeen’s trip to Ibrox on Sunday.

OUT
Alfredo Morelos (Marseille)
Ibrox’s resident bad boy might currently be serving a suspension, but reports are suggesting he’s set to replace another one at Marseille’s Stade Velodrome.
According to reports in France quoted by the Daily Record, Marseille want the Colombian hitman to replace Mario Balotelli. The Record claim Ballotelli is interesting clubs back home in Italy.
Could that mean the French giants move for Rangers talismanic striker? It wouldn’t be the first time.
