Rangers Chairman Dave King has released a statement as the club increase season ticket prices by 5% for season 19/20

Season ticket renewals are also now open as per plans announced on social media last week. Supporters can now sign up to retain their place in Ibrox for next season, but they’ll need to pay a little more for the privilege.

Dave King explains why.

“Your Board is committed to providing further funding and we are also asking for supporters’ help through renewing season tickets, which will increase in cost by only 5%,” said King.

“We feel this is not an excessive increase and every fan should know that the season-ticket revenue will solely go towards the first-team squad.”

Season-ticket revenue will go towards the first-team squad

Yes, you heard correctly. All of the monies raised from season tickets will go directly into the first team squad as Rangers look to invest in Gerrard and co next season.

Next season Rangers must win silverware and they must challenge for the league title. This is the very minimum we expect going into next year. Part of this is investment and the club clearly want supporters to help raise that money.

It’s an optimistic statement from King and one which will resonate with supporters. The Rangers Chairman also thanked supporters for their commitment to the club, spoke about how far we have yet to go and also discussed the improvement under Steven Gerrard this season.

“It was never going to be easy and it is extremely gratifying to have witnessed the progress that has been made over the last year,” said King.

“We are now within tangible reach of Rangers becoming the dominant force in Scottish football again.”
