Rangers reportedly reject interest from Bordeaux and Marseille for Morelos

According to reports Rangers have fended off interest in Alfredo Morelos from two clubs in France during this transfer window.

Bordeaux reportedly approached Rangers with a £3.75m offer for the striker. The reported fee is miles off Rangers valuation of the 22-year-old, with boss Steven Gerrard describing the bid as derisory.

South American media outlet Liga Deportiva also reported on interest from Marseille.

L’OM were said to be preparing a multi-million pound bid for the striker, but Rangers told the he was not for sale.

Hard work paying off for Morelos

This interest is testament to the work he has put in on the pitch this season.

The young Colombian has been in fine form, scoring six goals in ten games.

His form hasn’t gone unnoticed and he has also been called up to the Colombian national team.

Morelos is Rangers top scorer so far this season and there should be plenty more to come. Morelos himself told Rangers TV that he was in a “very happy place” in Glasgow.

Rangers need the hitman to be firing at home and abroad to have a successful season.

The striker is also set to be offered a new deal as Rangers look to tie down arguably their biggest asset for the foreseeable future.
