Mozambique international defender Mexer has reportedly been offered a deal to come to Ibrox this summer, according to an STV report.
Reports surrounding the player have intensified this week as French media claimed Steven Gerrard flew to France to meet the Rennes defender. An image has since emerged of Steven Gerrard with the 30-year-old.
Now, it looks like Rangers have made their move and are eager for the player to join the ranks at Ibrox.

French football journalist Rich Allen also claimed a deal was “getting closer” earlier in the week. Even current Rangers star and Mexer’s former teammate at Nacional, Daniel Candeias, has tried convincing the player to join.
Now it appears as if the decision is up to Mexer himself. And if he hasn’t yet made his mind up over a move to Ibrox, a trip to Govan for Sunday’s game might just be the tipping point.
