Rangers winger Daniel Candeias has sent a “come-to-Ibrox” plea to former teammate and reported Rangers target Mexer.
The Portuguese winger was a teammate of the Mozambican defender’s when both players played at Nacional between 2012 and 2014.
And Candeias sent a message to his old teammate after Rennes defender Mexer sent a cryptic Instagram post. Is this a hint he’s on his way to Ibrox?

In an Instagram post, Mexer says “Marcher vers le futur”. This translates as “walk to the future”.
Candeias responded “Le futur ce ici mon ferer”, which roughly means, “the future is here my friend”. Of course, for Candeias here is Ibrox.
The industrious winger isn’t the only Rangers connection with Rennes defender Mexer. The big defender might also look to Pedro Caixinha for advice about the Gers.
The former Rangers boss was Mexer’s manager at Nacional along with Daniel Candeias.

Mexer was linked to Rangers by L’Equipe in France, who also claim that Steven Gerrard has already met with the player.
With his contract running down at Rennes, Rangers could snap him up on a free. And one French football writer believes the club is “getting closer” to securing the Ligue 1 star.
The defender was also left out of the Stade Rennais side as they drew 2-2 with Toulouse at the weekend.
