Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has been pictured with reported Gers target Mexer as the Ibrox boss continues to work his magic in the transfer window.
Having such a globally recognised figure at the helm of the club is a major attraction to new signings.
As a result, even the likes of a centre half from Mozambique isn’t able to resist a photograph with the Liverpool legend. And it might just help convince the player his future is at Ibrox.
The fact the Gers boss is pictured with Mexer will further intensify reports surrounding the player. One, from a French football writer, suggested the deal is “getting closer.”
Gerrard was reported to have visited Mexer in France earlier in the week. This image simply acts as confirmation.
But it also acts as confirmation of just how much the Rangers boss values the defender.
By flying out to meet Mexer personally, Gerrard is clearly determined to convince the player just how big a move to Rangers would be for him. He’s also likely to be sounding the Mozambican international out.

Should Rangers manage to secure the signature of the defender, he would become the club’s fourth pre-contract signing going into next season.
Rangers have already signed Jordan Jones, Jake Hastie and Steven Davis as Steven Gerrard looks to build a squad capable of challenging for the title next season.
