Hot on the heels of the confirmation of a pre-contract agreement for Jake Hastie, Rangers had some more exciting transfer news on Thursday afternoon.

The Northern Ireland captain has been on loan from Southampton since January. Early on though, a permanent deal seemed unlikely.
Davis was initially a shadow of his former self. Therefore, he was subject to criticism from Rangers fans for his performances.

However, he’s recently got himself up to speed and nailed down a spot in midfield.
“Rangers fans have started to see a fully fit Steven Davis over the past month,” Steven Gerrard told the club’s website. “He looks sharp, is covering all round the pitch, winning the ball back, intercepting balls and looking aggressive.”
“That is why we brought him back in January and why we want him as part of this squad going forward.”
It’s an excellent coup for the club.

This is a player who won it all during his first stint with the club from 2008-2012.
Since then, he’s become a vastly experienced club and international performer. He knows his own game inside out and offers composure and quality in the middle of the park.
Plenty of Bears were delighted when the news broke. Here’s a selection of reactions:
