Sam Lammers, on paper, looks like a good deal for Rangers, a Serie A forward approaching his peak for a knock-down fee.
On the market for a reported £3.5m, Michael Beale is said to be close to agreeing a deal for the 26-year old.
Despite his 6ft 4inch frame, Sam Lammers is not the target man you would think and that for Rangers, he could be a replacement for the one that got away – Andreas Skov Olsen.

The former Netherlands youth cap won’t arrive at Ibtox being expected to replace Alfredo Morelos, which seems to be the perception among Rangers fans.
Instead, the fleet footed Atalanta forward will be pencilled in to replace Ryan Kent.
Similar to Andreas Skov Olsen, the 26-year old is capable of contributing anywhere in attack and has a style of play that is eerily similar to the Dane.
Rangers might have been priced out of a move for the former Bologna winger but we might be securing the next best thing for half the price, given that Club Brugge paid a reported £6m.
What Sam Lammers will bring to the Rangers attack
With his move to Fenerbahce confirmed, Kent’s six goals in two seasons shouldn’t be hard to replace and Lammers is more than capable of it.
Looking at the reported £8m La Dea signing’s highlight reel though suggests that we could see an equally as effective, if not even more direct, ball carrier in the Dutchman.

Michael Beale loves being able to tinker slightly with his shape depending on the opposition and Sam Lammers would give Rangers that flexibility.
Being able to play inverted as a number ten, through the middle or on either flank, instantly gives the Light Blues an upgrade on Kent, Rabbi Matondo and Fashion Sakala.
If he can match the latter’s numbers with greater in-game consistency, then we are on to a winner.
For Rangers, Lammers will see more of the ball, get more touches in the final third and be given more freedom, all factors that could see his numbers return to pre-Serie A levels.
For £3.5m, if the reports are accurate, then we might just have won a watch.
