After five years, Ryan Kent’s departure from Rangers was confirmed and he hasn’t taken long in finding a new home at Turkish outfit Fenerbahce.

Announced by the Super Lig giants, the 26-year old has decided for a new adventure abroad instead of returning to England.

Revealed on Twitter by the club’s official page, Ryan Kent has left Rangers to join a club where winning is expected every bit as much in Fenerbahce.

Speaking in a low key video, the 2018 £7m signing gives little away in what appears to be a scripted message to the fans in a deal that has been rumoured for some time.

Previous links to the Bundesliga and Premier League seemed to disappear with Burnley, reportedly, the only English top flight club that was regularly mentioned.

Ryan Kent introduces himself to Fenerbahce fans after Rangers exit

In his message to the Fener faithful, the former Gers winger revealed that he can’t wait to get started:

“Hello, Fenerbahce fans, this is Ryan Kent.

“Firstly, I would like to congratulate everyone associated with the club on winning the cup.

“It’s an honour to be joining Fenerbahce.

“After speaking with the club, I’m aware of the visions and the targets for next season and I look forward to helping my team achieve those goals.

“Starting with the Super Cup next month.

“I’m excited to start pre-season, to meet my teammates and you fans.

“Take care.”

Since 2018, Ryan Kent has done very little media at Rangers and often kept himself, to himself, at Fenerbahce, the scrutiny might not quite be as intense, but it will still be there.

No social media posts since leaving the club aren’t a surprise given how private an individual he is.

Kent is far from your textbook footballer, the perfect example being when he gave Nikola Katic a snake for his birthday one year, where do you even start with that?

It may have ended with disappointment but there are memories that will be looked back on, over time, with fondness.

As always though, as Ryan Kent is about to find out at Fenerbahce, once you leave Rangers, the next step is always backwards.
