Rangers left-back Ridvan Yilmaz does not want to return to Turkey amid links to Galatasaray, Verona, and now Torino.
The Turkish international, 22, is still very much a Rangers player having been snapped at the club’s La Manga training camp.
That’s despite a series of reports very strongly linking Ridvan with a January move to Serie A outfit Verona.
The Italians are not the only team who’ve been mentioned however with Istanbul giants Galatasaray reportedly making an enquiry to the player’s agents.
However, the journalist who made that claim has now expanded on the situation with Ridvan Yilmaz seemingly a player in demand this winter.
Ridvan Yilmaz not interested in Galatasaray move
Yağız Sabuncuoğlu – who works for Turkish outlet Sports Digitale – claims that Ridvan Yilmaz does not want a return to Turkey this winter.
In fact, the journalist claims that the Rangers left-back will only make a return to his home country if things do not work out in Europe.
Translated into English, the tweet reads:
“Ridvan Yilmaz’s priority is to stay in Europe. Verona and Torino are in talks with the player’s representative and sent scouts to Rıdvan’s last three matches and gave a positive report. If Ridvan cannot reach an agreement with the teams that want it from Europe; Only then can the Super League be an option.”
Rangers left-back transfer reports continue
Whilst the transfer chatter continues around Ridvan Yilmaz, the Rangers left-back continues to be hard at work at the club’s training camp.
Links to Turkey are nothing new for the defender who has been almost perennially linked with a return to the country since joining Rangers from Besiktas 18 months ago.
There appears to be several moving cogs in the background of this story with Verona reportedly set to bank north of £12m from the sale of three players, including two left-backs.

This includes Josh Doig, who could be inching closer to a move to Marseille.
Very interestingly, this might well kick Torino into life if they are interested in signing Ridvan Yilmaz too with the Italian side heavily linked to Josh Doig.
Whatever the case, it appears Rangers star Ridvan Yilmaz isn’t interested in a return to Galatasaray or Turkish football just yet.
