Leading journalist Chris Jack claims there is “a fair bit of weight” surrounding reports that Ridvan Yilmaz could leave Rangers this January.
However the leading Herald & Times journalist admits that Rangers are “keeping their cards close to their chest” with regards ins and outs this winter.
Turkish international left-back Ridvan Yilmaz, 22, has been strongly linked with a January switch to Serie A side Verona.
And now it looks like the former Besiktas star is edging closer to the end of a disappointing 18-month stint in Glasgow.
Chris Jack talks Ridvan Yilmaz
Speaking as part of the Rangers Review’s Morning Briefing, Chris Jack was asked about Ridvan Yilmaz’s situation at Ibrox.
Specifically, the journalist was asked if Rangers might be looking for a new left-back in this window and here’s what he had to say.
“I think they will be,” said Chris Jack. “It looks like Ridvan (Yilmaz) is heading for the exit door.
“Those reports in Italy carry a fair bit of weight. Rangers keeping their cards very close to their chest during this window unfortunately for us.
“Not saying very much on ins or outs but there are obviously two sides to every story and anything that doesn’t come from this end, there’s every chance it will come from the other end.
“Those reports from Italy over the weekend have certainly not been knocked down.”
Borna Barisic to vacate Rangers left-back slot?
It’s not just Ridvan Yilmaz who has been subject to Rangers exit murmurs this month either.
Croatian international Borna Barisic, 31, is out of contract at the end of the season and is another who has been routinely linked out of Ibrox.
When asked if Barisic could leave Rangers this month too, Jack responded: “Could Rangers afford to lose two? I think that’s probably more business in one area of the pitch than I thought they would be doing.
“I think it’s more likely that Ridvan will be moved on and then use that fee to then bring a left-back in that you’re then going to build that position around for the next few years.”

Attentions will then turn to who Rangers might look towards to come in and replace Ridvan Yilmaz in the Ibrox squad.
There have been conflicting reports surrounding young Scotland left-back Josh Doig, who currently plays for Verona.
The likes of Kai Wagner (Philadelphia Union), Fredrik Oppegard (PSV Eindhoven), and Gijs Smal (FC Twente) have also been linked in the press.
