Rangers have been linked with Liverpool midfielder Luca Stephenson, who has been on loan at Dundee United since 2024.

The Reds are understood to be open to parting ways with the 22-year-old, who is also capable of playing as a right-back.

Rangers have been linked with Stephenson over the past few weeks as Danny Rohl is eyeing a replacement for James Tavernier.

Would you want Rangers to compete in the Europa League or the Conference League next season?

Money will be more in the Europa League, but the Conference League gives you a better chance of a European trophy…

Liverpool accept Bolton Wanderers’ bid for Luca Stephenson

According to transfer journalist Pete O’Rourke, Liverpool have accepted a bid from Bolton Wanderers for Stephenson.

The Englishman will be leaving Anfield without ever making an appearance for the first team.

While Stephenson did play in pre-season friendlies, they do not count as official senior debuts.

Rangers were interested in signing him as he had proven himself in the Premiership and is versatile as well.

However, they did not make a direct approach or even enter talks with Liverpool to sign him.

He perhaps was not high up on their priority list, which saw Bolton capitalising, and they’re now close to securing his services.

A four-man shortlist has been drawn up to replace James Tavernier…

Which right-back are Rangers planning to sign?

Rangers have opened talks with Hampus Skoglund, the Hammarby right-back, who could leave this summer.

The Light Blues have made the 22-year-old a transfer priority and will likely table a bid for him if contract negotiations go well.

There have been multiple meetings between the respective parties, so things appear to be progressing well.

Which Rangers star will fare the best at the World Cup?

The Gers have six players at the tournament.

Nicolas Raskin (top left), Lawrence Shankland (top right), Findlay Curtis (bottom left) and John Souttar (bottom right) are representing Rangers at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Rangers have four players in the Scotland squad.

Apart from this, Nathan Patterson continues to be linked with an Ibrox return, and he could leave Everton this summer.

Despite Seamus Coleman’s retirement, it seems like the Toffees do not plan to make the Scottish right-back their first choice going into the new season.

There could be other candidates that emerge in the coming weeks, and there could also be two new right-backs the club look to sign.

One could be a specialist right-back, and the other could be a full-back capable of playing as a left-back as well as a right-back.

The Gers did that last summer when they brought in Max Aarons from Bournemouth on loan, and they could look to do something similar.
