Rangers are keen on signing a new right-back this summer, with Everton’s Nathan Patterson being mentioned as a potential option.

Danny Rohl is keen on signing a quality replacement for James Tavernier, and a number of players are being considered by the club.

Patterson still has admirers at Ibrox, especially as his move to Everton has not panned out as many thought it would.

A four-man shortlist has been drawn up to replace James Tavernier…

Everton’s pursuit of Kieran Trippier may pave the way for Nathan Patterson’s exit

Everton are keen on signing a new right-back following Seamus Coleman’s retirement, and reports have linked them with Kieran Trippier.

The England international left Newcastle following the expiry of his contract, making him a free agent.

However, he now looks set to sign for Wolves despite their relegation to the Championship.

How many league goals will Shankland score for Rangers next season?

He could fire Rangers to a domestic treble!

What this means for the Toffees and potentially for Rangers is that the Merseyside outfit do not see Patterson as a viable first-choice option.

He was signed to be Coleman’s long-term successor and if, after the Irishman’s departure, he is still not the go-to option, an exit could most likely be on the cards.

This gives the Gers a massive boost in their pursuit to bring the Scotland international back to Ibrox this summer.

Will Rangers make an approach to sign Patterson?

Rangers have readied a shortlist to replace Tavernier, but there will be other options that Rohl will be considering as well.

There is a possibility that the Light Blues end up opening talks with Patterson, and if they feel that he is willing to leave the Toffees, an approach can be made.

Everton would be willing to cash in as they have not managed to get the best out of the 24-year-old since he joined back in 2022.

Which right-back would you prefer at Rangers?

There is a chance that two new right-backs may be signed…

Given his age, he has plenty of time to get his career back on track and would prefer doing it in familiar surroundings in Glasgow.

He knows the club through and through and has family supporting them, so it is a move that makes sense on multiple levels.

The next few weeks will be a key indicator as to which direction the club are heading as other names have been prominently linked as well.
