The latest Rangers transfer news has suggested that five first-team players could be set to leave Ibrox this summer; taking exactly 400 Gers appearances with them.

It’s a summer of change at Ibrox and whilst the focus is on the incomings the latest transfer news suggests Jon McLaughlin, Ben Davies, Glen Kamara, Scott Wright and Antonio Colak could be set to leave Rangers.

Whilst all of these players started their Rangers journeys at different times, barring Ben Davies and Antonio Colak who joined last summer, their time at the club could soon be coming to an end.

That all five of these players have been the subject of transfer reporting speaks volumes about the scale of the revamp Rangers are currently undergoing with four players already signed.

Whilst the likes of Allan McGregor, Filip Helander, Scott Arfield, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos left at the end of their contract, the Rangers transfer news suggests another five familiar faces could follow them.

Rangers transfer news: five linked with exit door

Between the sticks, the addition of ex-England international Jack Butland and emergence of future Scotland international Robby McCrorie has Jon McLaughlin’s position in jeopardy.

Playing 46 times for Rangers and playing a key role in the 55 season, a step up to the number one jersey last season backfired on the Ibrox side and according to reports McLaughlin could leave Ibrox this summer despite having a year to run on his current deal.

Another who has been extensively linked with an exit, albeit only one year on from joining, is former Preston defender Ben Davies, who has failed to win over fans since a £4m move from Liverpool.

Coming with a big reputation, the centre-back has looked like a rabbit caught in the Ibrox headlights and club insiders Heart & Hand have previously pointed to an exit this summer after only 38 appearances.

Then there’s the highly experienced Glen Kamara, who has once again been the subject of transfer reporting this summer with the same lines being read year on year with the Finnish international.

The midfielder, like many at Ibrox, had an abysmal season last year and after 193 games, Rangers are said to be looking for £5m to shift the Arsenal academy graduate this summer.

Rangers winger Scott Wright joined from Aberdeen in January 2021 and since then has shown flashes of the player that Steven Gerrard thought he could develop into a consistent performer for the Ibrox side.

But unfortunately for Rangers those have only ever remained flashes and as the club looks to sign players who can shoulder more attacking responsibility, Wright appears to be on his way amid reports of a collapsed Preston move.

Finally, there is Antonio Colak, who despite scoring 18 goals in 39 appearances in his debut season for Rangers is not fancied by a large chunk of the support.

There’s a feeling amongst supporters that the big Croatian isn’t the answer and after only one year in Scotland, the latest transfer news suggests Colak could leave Rangers for Germany this summer.
