The high-profile Rangers transfer deal to take Scott Wright to Preston North End has collapsed amid reports that a second bid failed in the Championship club’s pursuit of the winger.
Lancashire Live are reporting that the Preston move for Scott Wright is now “doubtful” after two moves for the Rangers player failed in this transfer window.

The report claims that the Lilywhites were keen to get a deal done quickly but for whatever reason the move has now collapsed with the player set to remain at Rangers for the time being.
Lancashire Live are claiming that Preston are now moving on to “fresh targets” as manager Ryan Lowe looks to reinforce the wide areas of the club’s squad.
Rangers are also said to be keen on shipping Scott Wright out of the club, with the report claiming that amid links to Preston the winger “does not appear to have a future at Ibrox”.
Scott Wright to Preston collapses as Rangers plan exits
This follows on from claims that Rangers are set to ship out several fringe players from the squad this summer, with Preston-linked Scott Wright joined by the likes of Jon McLaughlin and Antonio Colak.
Speaking after the club secured the signing of Atalanta striker Sam Lammers, Michael Beale was clear that there will be departures from Rangers in the coming weeks.
This comes with the club making several moves into the side and the Rangers squad undergoing a substantial revamp this summer, with four names already signed.
“I am delighted with our progress so far in this summer transfer window,” said Beale.
“We have worked extremely well to recruit Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling, Kieran Dowell and Sam Lammers. We are ahead of schedule in our plans.
“The coming weeks will see more trading both in and out of the squad as we prepare for the season ahead. We have key areas of focus and we are close to securing our targets in those positions.”
It is not clear if Scott Wright is one of those names alluded to by Michael Beale here but whilst the player may be set to leave Rangers, it does not seem likely it will be for Preston North End.
