Philippe Clement saw the transfer window close with his team weaker than when it opened despite landing two up and coming youngsters for Rangers.
Rafael Fernandes has an exciting profile whereas Lyall Cameron knows exactly what it takes to be a success in the SPFL as a former nominee for young player of the year.
The Rangers squad is particularly short, but it looks like Nils Koppen was at least trying to get somebody in for the manager after the departure of Rabbi Matondo.

Rangers linked with move for Omari Forson
An early deadline day report saw Yorbe Vertessen linked, however, the Ibrox outfit made their approach too late.
Rumours of a bid for Couhaib Driouech were put to bed early doors after missing out in the summer, but a new name has now emerged.
According to Matteo Moretto, an Italian football journalist, Rangers made a last minute approach for Monza winger Omari Forson:
“In the last days of the market Glasgow Rangers survey for Omari Forson. Monza said no.”
This follows a claim made on deadline day by Heart and Hand’s David Edgar who also suggested that a winger had been a target:
“Rangers done for night. Were working on one deal for a winger but his club can’t get a replacement so not happening.”
What other winger have Rangers targeted?
The 20-year old England youth international has played just 340 minutes since signing for the Serie A side after leaving Man Utd in the summer.
There are no details as to what type of deal Koppen was looking for though with attentions now turning to the summer.
This follows on from comments from Hugo Broos, the South Africa manager, stating that Relebohile Mofokeng has Rangers as a potential option, another 20-year old winger with a bright future.
With Vaclav Cerny only on loan and with an £8m price tag, the recruitment team will have to replace a lot of goals as well as hoping that Oscar Cortes can get fit, stay fit, and find the sort of form that he promised when he first arrived at the club.
Get it wrong, and Rangers will be back to square one, and even further behind a Celtic team who have just brought back a player who will guarantee them double digits for goals and assists – despite not even needing him.
