Most managers when they are asked about players that they have been linked with will refuse to talk about them and Rangers boss Philippe Clement is no different.
The current manager might not indulge the media, but Michael Beale couldn’t help himself despite it being pretty common practice for nothing to ever be given away.
South Africa chief Hugo Broos is a man who takes after Beale’s heart though after revealing that one of his star players faces a pivotal transfer decision with Rangers name dropped into a staggering confession.

Rangers name dropped as Relebohile Mofokeng considers future
Relebohile Mofokeng was linked with Rangers throughout the summer only for speculation to never amount to anything concrete but Clement now needs more depth in his squad.
Yorbe Vertessen and Couhaib Driouech have both been mentioned which suggests a wide man is a deadline day priority.
The Orlando Pirates winger burst onto the scene last season and has 19 goal contributions in 27 games this term.
Form that has caught the eye of, not only Rangers, but Barcelona too.
The 20-year old hasn’t been targeted to make a direct impact for La Liga outfit’s star studded first-team, but the B team instead, for now, at least.
Broos, speaking about the speculation to South African news outlet IOL, believes that it is a key decision for the young forward to make:
“I just hope he makes the right decisions, and that he is not going to a team where he won’t play,” said Broos during a media day.
“I see all the things around him… I am just a little bit afraid (of the talks involving) Barcelona and Rangers.
“I hope the people around him make the best sporting solutions, and not a financial solution (that won’t help him).
“So, even though I am not happy with the decision, he should go. But Rangers? What is Rele going to do in the Scottish Premiership?
“When the ball is in the air … or when you have the ball, they kill you. He’ll not play there – even with the talent that he has. That’s not his style of play.”
Could Mofokeng handle the Scottish Premiership?
Oscar Cortes and Danilo would probably agree with Broos given the serious trauma injuries they have sustained from the physical nature of Scottish football and Mofokeng is built for speed not 6ft 2inch, 14 stone defenders.
Amad Diallo is the perfect example of how the SPFL can make a player realise that talent alone isn’t enough though with the Man Utd winger now one of their most dangerous players.
He has also been praised for his physicality this season too. A quality that was lacking until he had to experience away trips to Dingwall and Dens Park.
Links to Mofokeng may have gone quiet, but Broos name dropping Rangers into the mix suggests that the player has sought his advice, given the South Africa manager’s opinion on Scottish football, hopefully, he doesn’t listen to it!
