As the transfer deadline clock ticks down, interest in Alfredo Morelos is hotting up with the former Rangers striker said to have been contacted by Fenerbahce.

This would, obviously, mean a reunion with former teammate Ryan Kent with a move to Turkey, a destination that was never far from the headlines when it came to transfer speculation.

The report, by Sports Digitale’s Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, claims that Alfredo Morelos is now an official target for the Super Lig outfit as he looks to move on from life at Rangers.

Alfredo Morelos could see familiar face if he chooses Fenerbahce

Fener’s forward line currently hosts Michy Batshuayi, Josh King and Edin Dzeko, it isn’t short of fire power on the flanks with with Dusan Tadic a recent arrival too.

Wages won’t be an issue given that Alfredo Morelos was on a reported £33,000 per week at Rangers.

Turkey might not be the level that El Bufalo was looking for but it is still in Europe which was his ultimate goal, Fenerbahce are also a side that regularly competes in the Champions and Europa League.

The Colombia international will feel like he has a point to prove and, with a bid from Cagliari in Serie A on a significant wage drop, he might be faced with a decision of money or quality of league.

One thing is for certain, Alfredo Morelos, who was once valued at a £20m, needs to get back playing as quickly as possible given that he left Rangers in May and has done very little since.

Competition at Fener will be fierce, so it may be that the chance to be the main man at a smaller club appeals to him more than a bigger pay packer.

Either way, it’s looking like the former Ibrox idol is close to making his move, one thing is for sure, wherever he goes, there will never be a dull day.
