Ryan Kent set to be provider for Champions League starter Edin Dzeko

Last season, Ryan Kent would lift his head up and maybe see Alfredo Morelos or Antonio Colak to aim for, next season at Fenerbahce, he might have Edin Dzeko.

If there are any doubts as to why the 26-year old left Ibrox for Turkey, their next acquisition is proof that their pockets are considerably deeper than ours.

Ryan Kent will now, potentially, get to play at Fenerbahce alongside a modern great in Edin Dzeko, according to Fabrizio Romano, which means that he has no excuse for such poor numbers again.

The Super Lig giants seem to have been an ever present in Rangers transfer window so far.

Kent has joined them, Alfredo Morelos has been linked but it doesn’t end there either.

Luis Palma has been mentioned as a possible target and now, so has Haji Wright.

Both players would cost Rangers a lot of money and if Fenerbache are genuinely interested, you can guarantee that agents will be thinking about their own pockets rather than what might be best for their clients.

The chance to play alongside someone like Edin Dzeko would also be a difficult one to turn down.

When you look at his CV, it’s no wonder.

Top goalscorer in the Europa League, Serie A and the Bundesliga, trophies won in Italy, England and Germany as well as being Bosnia’s player of the year on four occasions.

Then there is the small matter of 323 club goals and 64 international goals, not many 37-year old strikers get to start Champions League finals but Dzeko did for Inter Milan for a reason.

Ryan Kent won’t get away with what he did at Rangers for so long, at Fenerbache he will find himself on the bench if he isn’t doing Edin Dzeko’s running or putting chances on a plate for the veteran striker.

I’d still back the former Man City forward to do more running than Morelos though, even in his 38th year.
