There is some confusion surrounding claims Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos could link-up with fellow out-of-contract teammate Ryan Kent at Fenerbahce next season.
The Gers duo are expected to leave the club upon the expiration of their current deals, but it remains very unclear where that may be.
Now, reports popping up across the Turkish and Scottish press are claiming both Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos could rock up on the Asian side of Istanbul next season.
But upon doing a little digging, it is unclear where these claims are coming from, with Rangers winger Kent the player most prominently linked to Fenerbahce.
Alfredo Morelos confusion in dual Ryan Kent Fenerbahce links
A report in Turkish outlet Fotomac has formed the basis of several high-profile Scottish reports but, upon translation, they appear to suggest the claims are coming from Scotland.
An excerpt from the report reads:
“Last minute Fenerbahce transfer news: Continuing its transfer studies, Fenerbahçe has been dealing with Rangers winger Ryan Kent for a while. A second name from Rangers was written for the yellow-dark blue ones. Scottish press stated that striker Alfredo Morelos will go to Canary.”
While there is no Scottish outlet running an exclusive on these claims, it’s left plenty scratching their heads over the potential legitimacy of the rumour.
While Morelos was officially linked to Fenerbahce as early as last summer, there appears to be nothing official regarding potential Turkish interest heading into the summer.
That cannot be said about Kent however, even if the latest reports suggest the winger has not agreed terms with Fenerbahce despite claims suggesting so in the week.
When both Kent and Morelos move on this summer, to Fenerbahce or anywhere else, it will be the end of an era for Rangers fans, many of whom have idolised the players since they joined the club in 2018 and 2017 respectively.
