Rangers-linked Korean international striker Cho Gue-Sung is set to move to Danish Superliga side FC Midtjylland amid strong links to the likes of Watford and Leicester City.
Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath made the claim on his official Twitter account, with McGrath also claiming that Blackburn Rovers were interested in Cho Gue-Sung and that the Danes will pay £2.6m for the forward’s services.
The news comes weeks on from when reports in the Athletic had claimed Cho Gue-Sung was closing in on a move to Championship Watford ahead of the new season.
Rangers had been linked with a move for the 25-year-old striker – who turned out at the World Cup with South Korea – in the January transfer window.
The Gers were mentioned as potential suitors for the FC Jeonbuk striker alongside Old Firm rivals Celtic, who were more strongly linked until they eventual plumped for divisional rival Hyeongyu Oh.
Whilst Rangers’ striker hunt has been more prominent this summer, there haven’t been any official links to Cho Gue-Sung since February of this year.
Rangers look elsewhere as Cho Gue-Sung lines up move
The Ibrox side have lost heavily criticised Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos at the end of the season following the expiration of his contract in Glasgow.
Major injury problems have plagued Kemar Roofe’s time in Glasgow and – whilst he enjoyed a relatively profitable campaign – injury and form issues have major doubts hanging over Antonio Colak.
Rangers have instead moved for Atalanta striker Sam Lammers – who is actually viewed as more of a ‘number 10’ by Michael Beale – and Brighton attacker Abdallah Sima – who has joined on a season-long loan – this summer.

The club is also closing in on a deal for Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers whilst there remains interest in Brazilian forward Danilo.
Whilst Cho Gue-Sung looks likely to cost less than both players, it’s telling that Rangers haven’t made a move and perhaps the club have decided their best interests lie elsewhere.
