Bojan Miovski has indicated that he would be happy to stay at Aberdeen this month amid reports of interest from Rangers in the £5 million-rated Scottish Premiership frontman.

In truth, the prospect of the deadly Don swapping Pittodrie for Ibrox during the January transfer window always felt somewhat unlikely.

Aberdeen, after all, are holding out for a fee that would make Bojan Miovski the most expensive player ever to swap one Premiership outfit for another (Sky Sports). Rangers have money to spend in the winter, but not £5 million worth (Scottish Sun).

And, furthermore, Miovski appears in no mood to force his way out, the Montenegrin marksman happy and settled in North East Scotland.

Rangers like Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski

“I still have two and a half years of contract with Aberdeen,” Miovski says, via the Daily Record. “And, to be honest, I feel great.

“Everything that is speculated and written about me is normal because, when you show good form and score goals, you are always watched by bigger clubs.

“I have been in Aberdeen for a year and a half, and I am very satisfied. I also hope that the people in Aberdeen are happy with me too. So far, I have scored 33 goals for the club.”

15 of those have come this season, Miovski almost certain to outstrip his tally from an impressive debut season at Aberdeen. Chairman Alan Burrows insists that he is in ‘no rush’ to sell a player who joined for a bargain £600,000 from MTV Budapest, and that will have been music to the ears of Dons assistant coach Steve Agnew.

“Bojan has got unbelievable movement as a striker and is a clinical finisher. He scored 18 goals last season and has 15 this season,” the former Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday tactician adds.

“They are very hard to find – a striker that can score goals and has that movement. And, obviously, he is confident at the minute.

“He is in a good place and is playing a lot of football, including international football. I’m sure he will have his targets as to how many goals he will score this season. And (he will also want) to be part of a successful Aberdeen team.”

Philippe Clement wants a striker

Rangers have also been linked with Nottingham Forest’s £20 million forgotten man Emmanuel Dennis, while Kevin van Veen still has admirers at Ibrox. Fabio Silva has joined already on a loan deal from Wolves.

Reports suggesting Michy Batshuayi could move to Glasgow, however, have been played down in some quarters.
