As Rangers reportedly launch a bid for Feyenoord striker Danilo, Michael Beale might’ve hinted about interest in the Brazil forward on Instagram.

The latest reports have suggested that Rangers have had an opening bid turned down the 24-year-old striker, who has just picked up an Eredivisie winners’ medal with the Dutch club.

Scoring 14 goals in all competitions last season, Danilo signed for Feyenoord on a free last summer following his release from Ajax and Rangers will need to pay a fee to free him from his contract at De Kuip.

But before all of that happens, those Rangers fans with a good memory will remember an Instagram post of Michael Beale’s earlier in the summer as fans try to read between the Ibrox boss’ lines.

Back in the beginning of June, Michael Beale shared an image of a caipirinha, a famous Brazilian cocktail, on Instagram whilst enjoying some close season down time.

The image was accompanied with a notepad, a pen and the caption “caipirinha” with a Brazilian flag emoji, sending fans at the time onto the transfer hunt. Here’s some Daily Record coverage at the time.

Well, we’re not saying that it’s definitive evidence that Rangers boss Michael Beale has had his eye on Danilo for a while, but it wouldn’t be the first time he’s used Instagram to tease fans over potential targets.

Earlier in the season the Rangers manager shared clips of a trip to Italy, leading to fans scratching their heads over potential moves in the European country.

The Ibrox manager would later admit the Italy posts were in reference to official Rangers business, and he wasn’t lying.

Eventually, Rangers would move for Atalanta forward Sam Lammers, securing a reported £3.5m deal for the Dutch striker to help kickstart the transfer window.

Something tells us that the Rangers boss can’t contain his excitement when he’s nearing some big news and perhaps the Danilo bid has been in Michael Beale’s pipeline for a while.

Interestingly, that Instagram post also came during Rangers’ reported pursuit of Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers, with those particular reports now firmly up in the air.

The links to Danilo aren’t the only Michael Beale links to Brazil either, with the Rangers manager spending time as a coach with Sao Paolo in 2017.
