Rangers are reportedly facing a problem in their quest to bring Feyenoord striker Danilo to Ibrox.

Earlier today, here on Rangers News, we covered a report from 1908.NL claiming that Rangers are keen on signing Danilo from Feyenoord in the summer transfer window.

The report stated that Rangers have made a bid for the 24-year-old Brazilian striker, and that the Gers and Feyenoord are in talks over a potential transfer.

A new report from another Dutch news outlet is now claiming that Rangers have had that bid now turned down.

Voetal International are reporting this morning that Rangers’ opening bid for Danilo has been rejected.

The transfer fee that the Gers have offered for the striker does not come close to what Feyenoord want, according to the report.

The report has added that the striker himself does not want to leave, but Feyenoord will listen to offers for the Brazilian and will sell him at the right price.

What should Rangers do about Danilo now?

In our opinion, Rangers should make a second and improved bid for Feyenoord striker Danilo now.

It is hardly ever the case when an opening bid is accepted.

Rangers will now have to negotiate and find an agreement.

That Feyenoord are open to selling the striker at the right price is very encouraging for the Gers.

As for the player himself, yes, he may now want to stay at Feyenoord, but if the Dutch club do accept an offer for him, then he will have to go.

It is as simple as that.

Stats

The Brazilian striker made 14 starts and 20 substitute appearances in the Eredivisie for Feyenoord last season.

Danilo scored 10 goals and gave three assists in those games.

The Feyenoord no. 9 also made six starts and four substitute appearances in the UEFA Europa League last season.

The Brazilian striker scored two goals in those games.
