A report in Germany has claimed Rangers still need to negotiate with Bayern in order to secure Malik Tillman permanently.

The 20-year-old midfielder has impressed on loan at Rangers this season and the Ibrox side have a much-publicised loan to buy to make the deal permanent.

But whilst some reports have claimed Malik Tillman would cost around £5m, it’s been suggested by SportBILD via Sport Witness that not all is not as it appears.

Confirming Rangers’ interest in Malik Tillman, the report claims the Gers are “very happy” with how the move has went.

This would back up Tillman claims from Michael Beale that Rangers are very interested in making the deal permanent.

However, the report also claims that Rangers need to play a game of “poker” with Bayern when it comes to negotiating the deal.

Rangers deal with Bayern for Malik Tillman not cut and dry

It comes with big changes in the offing at the Bundesliga Champions, who are on the verge of a Champions League exit to Man City.

Having sacked Julian Nagelsmann, the German giants have also appointed Thomas Tuchel and the coach may want to assess Tillman ahead of next season.

It certainly means the move for Malik Tillman is anything but cut and dry and Rangers fans will be watching the situation nervously.

Given the prices involved there is a split in the support but given the talent of Malik Tillman, surely Rangers would be guaranteed a return on the investment.

But we said that about Ryan Kent, who could be about to walk out the door for free.
