Rangers have once again been linked with a move for QPR striker Lyndon Dykes – but the claims directly conflict with comments from Michael Beale about the Rs side.
Darren Witcoop of the Mirror is claiming that Rangers are looking at Scotland international striker Lyndon Dykes, 27, as part of an extensive five-man raid on the English Championship.
The Gers have also been linked to another QPR man in Chris Willock by the journalist, while reported interest in Karlan Grant, Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling is also mooted.
Michael Beale has previously rubbished Lyndon Dykes QPR links
While three of the names mentioned by Witcoop may well be legitimate, those Rangers reports around Dykes and Willock will raise a few eyebrows.
This is after former QPR manager Beale ruled out a move for any of the London club’s players amid a series of high-profile links.
When pressed on reported interest in out-of-contract QPR winger Willock, the Rangers boss claimed:
“There’s no interest in Chris Willock or any QPR players.
“We won’t be going to them. I’ve been busy with others this week.”
Given Beale’s willingness to part with information, we can probably take this as a pretty solid suggestion Rangers won’t be going to QPR for either Dykes or Willock this summer.
The comments come amid a frosty Loftus Road exit for Beale, who jumped ship to Ibrox earlier in the season despite reiterating his commitment to QPR after links to Wolves and the Premier League.

The Rangers boss has been clear that a substantial rebuild is on the horizon, as several key players come to the end of their contracts and fans demand change due to consistent failures in the squad.
There are several players being linked with a move to Rangers – with there appearing to be genuine transfer legitimacy in three links in particular – and England is clearly one of the club’s biggest hunting grounds.
