Michael Beale knows the English market well and it would appear as if the bulk of the Rangers rebuild is going to come from the EFL and, specifically, the Championship.
Football managers always shop in markets that they know and, according to Darren Witcoop of The Mirror, Rangers could well be doing most of their shopping in the league where the Rangers manager started this season.
Little did he know where he would finish it.
Already, at least five names have been linked to Rangers from the EFL with Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling said to be close and links to Lyndon Dykes and Chris Willock not going away.
Reports claiming that one-time £15m man Karlan Grant is also a target have emerged this week.
Judge each player on their own merits and they would all be decent acquisitions to the squad with Dowell, Sterling and Grant, in particular, exciting prospects.

It looks like Rangers are targeting the Bosman market to bolster the squad which means that any departures can be reinvested.
Michael Beale will, hopefully, be given a few additional pounds to be spent as well.
Why are Rangers shopping from the EFL?
Where the Gers gaffer buys his players from shouldn’t be an issue, it isn’t lazy to buy players who you know will do a job and who you know will fit into the system and style of play that you want to develop.
There is another benefit to buying English or English trained too.
Our closest neighbour is also our biggest spender and buying market.
Whether we like it or not, Rangers are a stepping stone for some in the EFL as they look to make the promised land of the Premier League.
In Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo, we have two perfect examples of why shopping down south is beneficial.
For all that Bassey might have moved to Ajax, his development in Leicester City’s academy makes him an exciting prospect for Premier League teams.
Bassey has Europa League and Champions League experience as well as spending time at two massive clubs and the pressures that come with that but, before he signed for Rangers, he had never played senior football.
If the scouting is right, it doesn’t matter where the players are coming from, as long as they good quality.
