Rangers are reportedly set to revisit links to former Steven Gerrard target and West Brom striker Karlan Grant ahead of a summer rebuild.
Darren Witcoop of the Sunday Mirror claims that Rangers have “registered an interest” in the 25-year-old striker with the Baggies ready to sell in the upcoming window.
West Brom are said to be willing to deal despite the fact the Rangers-linked forward is only four years into a six-year deal, signed when the club paid £15m to bring Karlan Grant to the club from Huddersfield Town.
Rangers fans might also recall the Ibrox side being extensively linked to Grant earlier in the player’s career, with the Scottish Sun claiming the Gers had watched the striker during his time at Charlton.
With the player’s contract running down at The Valley, the story goes that Rangers were considering a pre-contract swoop for the striker before Huddersfield swooped in a £2m deal.
It’s not the first Steven Gerrard era player who has been linked ahead of the summer transfer window, with former Ibrox assistant Michael Beale also said to be closing in on a deal for Norwich City midfielder Kieran Dowell.

The links to Grant also come amid news that Colombian firebrand Alfredo Morelos will leave Rangers at the end of the season, El Bufalo’s Ibrox stint ending on something of a sour note.
Rangers also have striking options in the shape of Kemar Roofe and Antonio Colak at the club, but both have proven unreliable in a disappointing season at Ibrox.

Ex-Anderlecht striker Roofe has barely contributed as injuries continue to plague his career, while Antonio Colak is reportedly set to leave Rangers after only one year in Glasgow.
Grant has had a disappointing season in the Championship with West Brom this year, managing only three league goals in 31 appearances with The Hawthorns club ninth in the English second tier.
