It’s not just those Chris Willock links that Michael Beale has just shut down

Rangers boss Michael Beale has claimed that there is “no interest” in Chris Willock at QPR – in comments which also rubbish links to Lyndon Dykes.

The Ibrox gaffer was speaking ahead of the Old Firm Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic and faced questions on Rangers links to Chris Willock after reports emerged this week.

Now, it’s not like this particular tabloid to get things wrong *cough*, but it would appear that any talk of Rangers interest in the former Arsenal Academy kid is a nonsense.

This comes despite Chris Willock being out of contract at QPR in the summer and at 25-years-old, being exactly the kind of player who might replace a Fenerbahce-linked Ryan Kent for example.

But in the process of denying the links to the QPR attacker, Beale also appeared to rubbish the suggestion that Rangers could move for Scotland striker Lyndon Dykes.

Chris Willock comments also disprove Rangers Lyndon Dykes interest

One England-based journalist had claimed earlier in the month that Michael Beale had Dykes on his “shopping list” ahead of the summer.

Michael Beale obviously managed both Chris Willock and Lyndon Dykes at Loftus Road but according to the Gers boss, no Rs stars will be swapping London for Glasgow this summer.

“There’s no interest in Chris Willock or any QPR players,” said Michael Beale.

“We won’t be going to them. I’ve been busy with others this week.”

This means that both Chris Willock and Lyndon Dykes are categorically not on Rangers’ shopping list and the links between Michael Beale and a QPR raid can effectively stop.

Whilst Rangers fans are expecting a big summer it would appear the club is moving in a direction with Michael Beale clearly busy working on transfers in the background at Ibrox.

This comes after Nottingham Forest bound former sporting director Ross Wilson leaves Ibrox with the squad in something of a mess.
