Rangers are picking up the pace in the transfer window as Philippe Clement looks for the starters he needs to win the Scottish Premiership.
There is still a lot of work to be done with conflicting reports over the likelihood of Joan Jordan heading to Ibrox.
The midfielder would be eyed for the role vacated by John Lundstram but the manager might already have the answer in a familiar Auchenhowie face training with his squad.

John Fleck back in Rangers fold
Linked with a return to Rangers over the last few years, John Fleck is back at the club and keeping fit as he looks for a new club.
The 32-year old was a bright young hope when he first broke into Walter Smith’s team packed full of internationals and wise old heads.
It was at the beginning of cost cutting when academy players like Steven Smith, Alan Hutton and Charlie Adam were also given more of a chance.
Playing as an attacking midfielder, striker or winger, Fleck was clearly talented but couldn’t force his way into the team on a regular basis.
He left Rangers on a permanent basis in 2012 to join Coventry City where he excelled as a deep lying playmaker before earning a move to Sheffield United and Premier League football.
Speaking a few years ago, Fleck hinted that a return to Ibrox would be welcomed:
“Every player’s path is different and obviously mine took me away from there and thankfully it’s worked out.
“I’m very happy at Sheffield United and as long as I continue to be then great. If that chance came further down the line to come back to Rangers then I’d love it to be honest.
“I wouldn’t say unfinished business because I was obviously a small part of a successful team back then and delighted to have some great memories with that squad and the club at that time.”
Fleck has the chance to impress Rangers boss
Fleck is “only” training at Rangers but it is a no brainer if he impresses.
The Scotland international had a torrid time with a shin injury last season, however, his body has served him well over a more than respectable career.
Rangers need experience in midfield, they also need a natural number six.
For perspective, Steven Davis was two years older when he returned to Rangers.
Philippe Clement will get to see Fleck every day in training in what is the ideal scenario for every party involved.
Should he impress, Fleck would jump at the chance to put pen to paper on a short term deal and Rangers could improve their home grown quota for next to nothing.
If he doesn’t impress, no harm done but we’ve done a former player a favour.
