Former Rangers midfielder, John Fleck, has opened up on his decision to quit Rangers, as quoted by the Daily Record.
The now 27-year-old burst onto the scene at Ibrox as a teenager, earning man of the match awards and Scottish Cup final appearances along the way.

However, during the club’s darkest hour, he opted to leave for England.
Coventry City was his first destination and after four years there, he moved to Sheffield United, in 2016.
Now, he’s on the cusp of the Premier League and is gaining senior Scotland recognition.
“It was my choice to leave Rangers”, admitted Fleck, as quoted by the Record.
“I was in and around the squad, I wasn’t a first-team regular and I had to go out and find myself as a player.”

“Rangers didn’t actually try to convince me to stay. I made that decision completely on my own, with my family, to go and try something new.”
“It was a big call and, looking back, it was the right call. I could have stayed but would I have played? I’m not so sure. I had to go out and get regular first-team football.”
Fleck now at peak of his powers
It’s certainly not been an immediate success story for Fleck.
His initial move south of the border came seven years ago. Given his start to life at Ibrox, many would have thought he would have a significant tally of international caps by now.

There’s no telling how things would have panned out had he opted to stay.
However, he’s certainly adamant that everything has worked out for the best.
That’s not to say he could never return to Ibrox one day.
Fleck could make his Scotland debut on Thursday evening, against Kazakhstan, in Astana.
