Rangers ended the pre-season programme with a modicum of positivity after an eventful afternoon in Berlin.
Philippe Clement saw his team finally click in possession, play some attractive football and look energetic throughout – all that is needed now is to stop the individual errors in defence.
The squad needs more quality though and the manager will be keen to add more players like Vaclav Cerny and who can make an immediate impression in the first team.

Rangers look to add experience in Joan Jordan
Another might be on the way with Fernando Serrano of the Bombonera Insider providing an update on the proposed move for Joan Jordan.
Cerny’s announcement is a positive one and is an indication of the type of signing that Clement has been talking about in terms of experience:
“Very pleased he is someone with a lot of quality and high value, he’s shown that at international level, in Holland and the Bundesliga. Like I said, we would not get only young players in. We had to rebuild and get young players in for the future but also experienced players who know in every situation what to do in the pitch.”
Joan Jordan is on an even higher level to Cerny given his vast experience of La Liga and European football with Sevilla.
As a natural number six, he is exactly what Clement is looking for.
Who better to control things in midfield than someone who has dictated the tempo for a side that win the Europa League twice with him in the heart of their midfield.
Rangers reach Jordan agreement with Sevilla
According to Serrano, Rangers could be about to bring him to Ibrox to control proceedings:
“Sevilla FC has accepted Rangers’ offer and is waiting for Jordan’s final yes. The transfer will include a non-mandatory purchase option of €4M”
Initially it was thought that an offer in the region of 50% of Jordan’s wages would be enough to secure the 30-year old’s signature.
The goalposts moved though and Sevilla are keen to get Jordan off their books in a permanent deal.
Players of his calibre don’t come cheap though which is why Rangers were only looking for a loan deal.
Even that is going to cost in the region of £41,000 per week given the Spaniard’s contract.
Serrano claims that an agreement has been reached with an option to buy clause of £3.3m added to the terms and conditions.
It might seem like a lot of money for a player of his age, however, he would be a guaranteed starter, a player who will improve those around him.
If Rangers want first team ready individuals with experience, there is a price to pay and it looks like one has been agreed for Joan Jordan.
