If the hefty price tag attached to Olympiakos midfielder Hwang In-Beom wasn’t enough to dispel those links to Rangers, then apparent interest from Serie A giants Inter might do the job.
The Ibrox side have been linked with a move for Hwang In-Beom in the press ahead of a substantial summer rebuild with the Korean World Cup star a stand-out in the Greek Super League over the last few seasons.

Reports in Greece claimed that Rangers ran the rule over the midfielder, alongside Greek pair Dimitrios Kourbelis and Fotis Ioannidis in a clash between Panathinaikos and Olympiakos in February.
Hwang In-Beom also would’ve impressed visiting Rangers scouts as they reportedly watched Aris winger Luis Palma amid increasing links between the Gers and the South European nation.
But those links to the Korean have been immediately tempered by reports that Rangers would have to splash out a substantial £13m to seal any deal for Hwang.
We can tell you right now that – although there will be cash spent this summer – there is quite simply no chance that the Ibrox side will spend this much on any player, the alone the 26-year-old.
Rangers-linked Hwang In-Beom ‘watched’ by Inter
Now, if those reports weren’t enough to rubbish the Rangers links to Hwang In-Beom, it appears that the Gers will face substantial competition if they’re serous about signing the midfielder.
According to reports in Korea, Inter Milan were watching the player in January whilst Greek outlets have previously claimed that Bundesliga clubs such as Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Mönchengladbach are also watching.
All of this suggests that Hwang In-Beom might just be out of Rangers’ reach and as the Ibrox side prepare for a summer overhaul they need to be smart with their cash.
Bosman signings do appear to have caught the eye of Michael Beale with the likes of Jack Butland and Kieran Dowell two of the latest names doing the Rangers rounds.
