Rangers could sign as many as 10 players this summer, with Motherwell’s Elliot Watt among those on the wishlist.
With Andrew Cavenagh firmly backing Danny Rohl, the Light Blues have wasted no time in getting their transfer business underway this window.
Rangers have already roped in Lawrence Shankland from Hearts, triggering a secret clause in the striker’s contract that allowed him to move to Ibrox on a free transfer.
While Rohl is keen to add more leaders to his squad, the number of signings is “likely to be closer to 10 than 15”, unlike last summer when they brought in 14 new players, according to Jack.

Chris Jack shares Elliot Watt to Rangers state of play
Assessing Rangers’ squad, Jack explained that the club are focusing on bringing in a new number six this summer amid uncertainty around Mohamed Diomande and Nicolas Raskin.
Writing on the Rangers Review, he noted that Diomande and Raskin will be the subject of interest this window and are likely to depart.
The Gers are keen to avoid mistakes of the past, having been disappointed by Joe Rothwell’s transfer last summer, as they look to rope in a new defensive midfielder.
Jack revealed that Watt is “one of the names” under consideration, although the Ibrox club are yet to approach Motherwell over a potential transfer.
Dan Neil has been heavily linked with a move to Glasgow in recent days, and he is viewed as an “excellent” player.

Andrew Cavenagh must get number six signing right
While Jack did not mention any more players under consideration to fill the void in the defensive midfield role, it is worth noting that Hearts’ Cammy Devlin has also been linked with a move to Govan.
Milan Vitalis of ETO FC in Hungary is another midfielder said to be under consideration, although he is not as defensive-minded as the others.
It is evident that Cavenagh and Co. are considering several options, as they look to get the spine of the team spot on.
After Shankland, this could be Rangers’ most important signing of the summer, and it is imperative that Cavenagh gets this right.
