Hugh Keevins has called out Andrew Cavenagh after Rangers succumbed to a fourth consecutive defeat.

The Light Blues hit a new low after their 2-1 defeat against Hibernian at Ibrox on Wednesday, which saw them lose their fourth game in a row.

Rangers were contending for the title just three weeks ago, but now find themselves in chaos and are confirmed to finish third.

Hugh Keevins aims a dig at Andrew Cavenagh after what he did

Despite all that, there have been no signs to suggest that Danny Rohl’s position as the Rangers manager is under threat.

Speaking ahead of the game against Hibs, the German tactician revealed that he has no concerns about his job after positive talks with Cavenagh.

However, this has not gone down well with a section of the fanbase, and Keevins evidently shares the sentiment.

The veteran journalist insisted that there should be no way that Cavenagh continues to back Rohl after losing four games in a row, especially at this stage of the season.

He also aimed a subtle dig at the Rangers chairman, questioning his understanding of football as an American.

In Keevins’ view, the Govan club must not be satisfied with a third-place finish after spending over £40million on transfers and must sack Rohl.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, he said: “You cannot go on telling people that four defeats in a row are okay. Andrew Cavenagh, I fully understand, is American, but he understands sport, I assume.

“You simply cannot have a club of Rangers’ size, Rangers’ budget, having spent £40m this season, and have four defeats in a row, and that’s the fault of the manager.”

Cavenagh and Co. are in Glasgow for Rangers talks this week

Stevie Clifford of the Four Lads Had a Dream blog revealed on Wednesday that Cavenagh and his American entourage are in Glasgow this week.

According to the Rangers insider, ‘huge talks’ about the club’s future and plans for next season are scheduled before the weekend.

However, it remains to be seen if Rohl’s position as the team manager will be discussed in those meetings.

The Glaswegian outfit will be making a huge gamble if they decide to stick with the Sheffield Wednesday boss next season.

There is a possibility that the Gers have to change managers before Christmas once again if Rohl stays.
