Danny Rohl’s job at Rangers may not be as safe as it was following the Hearts defeat, as it is after Celtic’s 3-1 win.

The German watched his side lose their third game in a row in the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic outplayed Rangers at Parkhead on Sunday and picked up maximum points against their arch rivals.

Keith Jackson claims Andrew Cavenagh may have started a personal review of Danny Rohl

Daily Record journalist Keith Jackson, who first broke the news of Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers Enterprises taking over the reins at Ibrox, has stated that Cavenagh may already have started a personal review of Rohl and the mistakes made this season.

Jackson believes it will be very difficult for the American owners to show their unwavering support for the German manager after the last three performances.

The board are expected to have a series of meetings in which they assess what the best way forward is for the club.

Rangers can afford to sack Rohl, and a decision to keep him is not going to hinge on the finances.

Who do you see replacing him?

What may come into consideration is the fact that he only took over in October and has not had a full summer with his players.

He was only able to bring in four new players in January and is expected to be given more money in the summer, should he still be at the helm.

Speaking on Hotline Live about Rohl’s future, Jackson said: “No, I actually don’t (think Rohl will be at Rangers next season).

“I think Rangers will be having a series of meetings and Andrew Cavenagh has already started a personal review of the mistakes that have been made this season.

“As I have said previously to this Daniel, when he first came in the door he was solely focussed on getting the deal done, because it was a highly complex transaction to get a hold of so many sets of shares from different places to get the deal done.

“It took all of his efforts and all of his focus, and because of that, he has literally taken his eye off the ball in terms of the football side of it.

“I said repeatedly last summer that things are likely to get worse before they get better under Andrew Cavenagh.”

Things have gone sour quickly for Rohl at Rangers

Rangers News reported that Rohl’s job was safe following the Hearts game, but things are a lot different now.

If there is already a review ongoing, it does not bode particularly well for Rohl.

The German has watched his team being outplayed in the last three games, and that is never acceptable at Rangers.

Even against Celtic, while they may have taken the lead, they never looked to be in control of winning the game.

Yes, the players are also to blame, and without a clearout in the summer, things aren’t expected to improve.

That said, Rohl needs to find a way to get a tune out of the players and convince the board he deserves to stay beyond the summer.
