A Rangers source has been informed that the Light Blues are lining up a summer move for Motherwell ace Elliot Watt and another player.

The Glasgow giants will finish third in the Scottish Premiership after their 3-1 defeat against Celtic in the Old Firm derby, which was followed by a 2-1 loss at home to Hibernian.

With nothing else to play for, Rangers can already be looking ahead to the summer transfer window, as another squad overhaul appears to be on the horizon.

Elliot Watt and Ross McCrorie on Rangers wishlist

Stevie Clifford runs the Four Lads Had a Dream blog and is a well-known Ibrox insider. That is why it is hard to ignore him when he drops inside scoops.

In his latest solo podcast, he revealed that he has heard that Rangers are already looking at potential deals for two players, including Watt.

Clifford went on to disclose that Danny Rohl‘s side are also considering re-signing Ross McCrorie five years after his permanent departure.

He added that he is certain Andrew Cavenagh will fund another squad overhaul this summer, with the Light Blues tipped to spend over £20million on new signings.

In the Rangers insider’s view, the club are likely to cash in on some players to help fund those transfers.

Speaking on the Four Lads Had a Dream YouTube channel, he said: “I have heard that we are looking at a certain couple of players. Elliot Watt is one of them. I’ve heard we are looking at Ross McCrorie again.

“We’re going to be in a situation where we are looking at all sorts of players and linked with all sorts of players, so I have no doubt that Andrew Cavenagh will invest.

“I think there will be £20m or £30m to spend, I’ve got no issues with that at all, and I think we’ll sell some players, maybe, to fund and do that as well.”

Will you take Lewis Ferguson back at Rangers this summer?

Why Watt and McCrorie would be brilliant signings

Rangers are being linked with several players, including Lewis Ferguson, already.

However, there is no doubt that Watt and McCrorie would be a brilliant coup for the Glaswegian outfit.

The Gers need a new right-back, with James Tavernier’s exit in the summer certain to leave a massive hole in that position.

McCrorie, 28, has excelled as a right-back and a right wing-back at Bristol City this season, bagging three goals and six assists in 39 Championship appearances.

Meanwhile, recent games have also shown how easy it is for opposition teams to play through Rangers’ midfield.

That is why Watt would make a solid addition for the Ibrox outfit.
