And now the 20-year-old English winger is propping up the bench as the Serie A strugglers are humbled by Lazio.
Philippe Clement has been clear that Rangers didn’t do all the business they’d hoped for as the club’s shoestring transfer budget is stretched in Glasgow.
But as Omari Forson is left twiddling his thumbs, Philippe Clement is left lamenting a lack of left-wing options after a shock Scottish Cup defeat to Queen’s Park.

Rangers reportedly failed with a late bid to bring Omari Forson to Ibrox from Italian side AC Monza.
That’s according to reports coming out of Italy, which suggested the ex-Manchester United talent was the player Rangers were trying to sign this winter.
This comes after the likes of Heart & Hand claimed Rangers failed in their attempts to sign a new left-winger this January.
Days later and Forson started on the bench as Monza made the trip to Rome to face Lazio.
And the ex-Erik Ten Hag forward never got off the bench as the Italian side were hammered 5-1 to consolidate their position at the the bottom of the Serie A table.
Omari Forson has been a bit-part player for Monza since moving to Italy in the summer, making just five substitute appearances in the Serie A.
Rangers manager laments lack of options
At the same time, Philippe Clement was facing criticism for subbing on Ridvan Yilmaz for Ianis Hagi in the Scottish Cup defeat to Queen’s Park.
The Rangers manager is under mounting pressure after the shock Cup exit but Clement insists he will not walk away from Ibrox as fans begin to revolt.
Speaking after the game, Philippe Clement also clashed with journalists over his substitutions and appear to land a dig on the club’s stringent transfer budget.
“I don’t think it’s defensive if you’re taking off a defensive midfielder and put a striker in, so I don’t really understand the question,” said Clement.
“Yilmaz played really good games a left winger and he will play also as a left winger in moments.
“This was not the time to put on a young boy and that was the other opportunity.
“That was the changes for now with the wingers we have in the squad.”
