Mexer's Old Firm visit could be deciding factor in Rangers move

Rangers have reportedly offered a deal to Rennes defender Mexer [STV News]. Ahead of any move, the big Mozambican has also reportedly been invited watch Sunday’s Old Firm at Ibrox [Daily Record].
And if the player’s mind hasn’t been made up before entering the stadium, it certainly could have by the time he leaves. Especially if we win.
There’s arguably no better game to get your introduction to Rangers than playing Celtic at Ibrox. It could well stand as the deciding factor in the defender’s decision.

Coming from Stade Rennais/Rennes, Mexer is used to playing at the 30,000 capacity Rohazon Park. The club’s derby, with Nantes, no matter how passionate, isn’t exactly top of the derby tourist’s bucket list.
This weekend’s match should be and will be an experience like no other for Mexer, should he take up the invitation. Let’s be honest; there are few better ways to sound out a move to Rangers as a player.
People from all over the world have been struck with the Ibrox bug as soon as they’ve stepped foot into the stadium. Let alone to near 50,000 Bears raucously intimidating their rivals.
To even the most experienced supporter the Old Firm derby at Ibrox remains a special occasion. For a footballer who has the option of playing in one, watching one must be a special kind of anticipation/torture.

If Mexer, amidst all the reports, can come to Ibrox, watch the Old Firm and hopefully see us defeat Celtic, how could he resist the chance to play in the next one? Even if it isn’t without options [Scottish Sun].
