There are ten names now being linked to becoming the next Rangers manager as the club look to replace Michael Beale at Ibrox.
With Ibrox legend Steven Davis in interim charge alongside former Gers midfielder Alex Rae, the club are clear they will be meticulous as they look to make a long-term successful appointment.
But as Rangers fans try and hone in on who will be the club’s next manager, they’ll have to do some digging between the plethora of names which have already been mentioned.
We make it ten in total, with some already ruled out by the same papers who linked them, as Rangers look to make a critical appointment in an important juncture of the club’s legacy battle with Celtic.

Graham Potter reportedly won’t be the next Rangers manager
As quickly as Graham Potter’s name began whistling through the Ibrox stands, any suggestion he could be the next Rangers manager was being cut down.
The ex-Chelsea and Brighton manager is biding his time for a Premier League return and despite links to Rangers, is not expected to be in the running.
Frank Lampard “would like” the job
Whilst Telegraph journalist Luke Edwards admitted Frank Lampard has one of football’s best agents, the journalist did claim the England legend “would like” the Rangers job.
This follows on from links to the ex-Chelsea and Everton manager who, whilst potentially interested, would be up against it to placate frustrated Rangers fans.
Chris Wilder is an understated option
In the same breath that Frank Lampard was being mentioned, ex-Sheffield United, Middlesbrough and Watford manager Chris Wilder was also being tipped to become the next Rangers manager.
Undeniably an understated option which is not making many headlines, the manager is a decent coach but does he have the pedigree to lead one of Scotland’s premier institutions?
Kevin Muscat is becoming the clear Rangers frontrunner
With his attacking Yokohama team praised by Pep Guardiola in the summer, Kevin Muscat is somewhat becoming the clear frontrunner for the Rangers job.
The links are extensive and whilst Muscat is reportedly withholding contract talks as the former Ibrox star considers the job, at the risk of following in the footsteps of Celtic, it’s a majorly risky move.

Neil Warnock the old head being tipped by one critical pundit
Legendary English Football League manager Neil Warnock appears to be linked to the Rangers job every time it’s available and the manager has been clear before he’s got a soft spot for the club.
Outspoken pundit Simon Jordan – who has been right on top of Rangers after sacking Michael Beale – reckons we’d be wise to at least cast a glance at the 74-year-old.
Kjetil Knutsen – the perennially linked Scandinavian
Kjetil Knutsen is another name who is perennially linked with either Rangers or Celtic anytime an Old Firm job comes up because of his success with Norwegian side Bodo Glimt.
Attacking football is a major draw for fans of the Scandinavian who will need a “special” offer to leave his very successful project in Northern Europe.
Pascal Jansen is reportedly being pushed by Rangers legends
One of the more interesting links of the last few days, AZ Alkmaar boss Pascal Jansen is reportedly being tipped towards Ibrox by Ronald de Boer.
It’s said that the English-born Dutch coach – who is unbeaten in the Eredivisie this season – is genuinely interested at a shot of salvaging the season in Govan.
Marcelo Gallardo – from Buenos Aires to Ibrox?
Legendary former River Plate manager Marcelo Gallardo ticks all the boxes given his heavyweight pedigree, trophy success and charisma in the midst of a fierce rivalry.
But those Rangers links to the Argentinian coach were rebuffed as quickly as they appeared with the highly-rated manager incredibly unlikely to rock up in Scotland.
Ryan Lowe the latest ambitious tip
Last but by no means least there is Preston boss Ryan Lowe, who is seemingly a shock contender for the post, at least according to the Daily Record.
Out of all the names mentioned, or at least mentioned with a sense of gravitas, from where I stand this is the appointment which would inspire Rangers fans the least.
