Rangers might be changing tact away from high-earning players from the English Football League.
But that doesn’t mean the Ibrox club aren’t aware of potential bargains coming from the cash-rich system south of the border.
Calvin Bassey (Leicester City) and Joe Aribo (Charlton Athletic) helped bank the Bears a veritable fortunate north of £25m and it’s a market the club would be foolish to abandon completely.
And as Rangers scour international markets for top talents, one long term EFL transfer target continues to be linked to Ibrox as Philippe Clement looks to bolster the Gers attack.

‘Rangers want Campbell’
Tyrese Campbell is a player Rangers fans will remember from the reign of Steven Gerrard.
Back in January 2020, Campbell claims he almost signed for Rangers as his contract ticked down with Stoke City.
The Potters had paid around £1.7m at tribunal for the former Manchester City striker, who is the son of the late ex-Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell.
In October 2022, Campbell himself claimed that ‘there were a couple of points’ where a move to Rangers ‘was going to happen’ under Gerrard.
Fast forward four-and-a-half years since the original links and Tyrese Campbell is once again being mentioned alongside Rangers.
After Campbell was linked in January, Rangers have been linked with the ex-Stoke City forward this summer.
Having left Stoke City at the end of his contract, the 24-year-old is reportedly in discussions with a number of English Championship clubs.
But Darren Witcoop of the Mirror also claims that Rangers remain keen on potentially resurrecting a deal.
The Gers have been linked alongside Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion, Cardiff City and Sheffield United.
Rangers target striker additions
Rangers remain active in the transfer window as the Scottish Premiership season prepares to kick off against Hearts.
The Gers are known to be looking to bolster their frontline, with bids for left-sided attackers Gonçalo Borges (FC Porto) and Morgan Whittaker (Plymouth Argyle) reportedly turned down.
Tyrese Campbell is more familiar playing off the right but can also play through the middle.
The ex-Man City youth would offer something different in the final third for Rangers with the plan to maximise the undoubted potential Tyrese boasted earlier in his career.
Rangers fans will however note Campbell’s recent injury history, with problems keeping the striker out for large periods of the first half of last season.
The problems clearly hampered Tyrese Campbell’s form at the Potters too, with the striker scoring only three Championship goals last season in 23 appearances.
