Your first Rangers transfer bulletin on a very busy deadline day. Rangers News has updates on seven players including Jan Schoppner and Nedim Bajrami among others.
Jan Schoppner to Rangers ‘discussions’
Rangers are negotiating a loan with an option to buy deal for towering defensive midfielder Jan Schoppner, according to SPORT BILD.
Journalist Albert Aivars Veiss posted on his X account that the Ibrox giants are interested in securing the services of the Heidenheim player.
The 25-year-old’s contract at the German club expires next summer and a deal to bring him to Glasgow would strengthen an area of the squad that needs reinforcing.
Nedim Bajrami Rangers loan talks
Talks are continuing to take place between Sassuolo and Rangers for the loan signing of playmaker Nedim Bajrami.
Heart & Hand Podcast revealed on Thursday that the Light Blues are pursuing an option to buy the Albanian next summer, with the Serie A side preferring a straight loan.
Bajrami scored the quickest European Championship goal ever at Euro 2024 against Italy with a sensational strike after just 25 seconds of play.

Latest on Josip Brekalo
Venezia appear to be leading the race to sign Fiorentina winger Josip Brekalo before the day is done.
Rangers have been linked with the 26-year-old Croatian for much of the summer, with reports intensifying in recent days.
The club were said to be favourites to sign Brekalo but an update from Gazzetta dello Sport on Thursday claimed Serie A side Venezia were ‘making progress’ in their pursuit of him.
Rangers near Neraysho Kasanwirjo loan
Neraysho Kasanwirjo has reportedly been granted permission to travel to Glasgow ahead of a loan move to Rangers.
That’s according to Dutch outlet 1908NL, with the 22-year-old Feyenoord centre-back set to sign for the season with an option to buy next summer.
Kasanwirjo is contracted at Feyenoord until 2027 and spent last season on loan with Rapid Wien, making 28 appearances in total for the Austrian charges.

Scott Wright seals Rangers exit
In terms of departures, Scott Wright’s move to Birmingham City was confirmed this morning in a deal worth a reported £300k.
Wright spent three-and-a-half years at Rangers but failed to make himself a regular or a player that the Ibrox faithful took to.
He told Birmingham City’s club media: “I just thought it was probably time for me to move on. I am extremely grateful and blessed to have played at that club, nothing but good memories there.
“I am delighted to say I have been there and played there, but it’s now for the next chapter of my career – one I am really looking forward to.
“It was so demanding at Rangers, and intense, which is something I enjoyed, all I can do is come here and try and bring that experience that I had and try and set some standards. The standards here are so high already and I am just here to try and help.”
Todd Cantwell undergoing medical
Wantaway playmaker Todd Cantwell is nearing his own Rangers exit after submitting two transfer requests across the summer.
Blackburn Rovers is likely to be his next destination with Cantwell currently undergoing a medical at the EFL Championship outfit.
Cantwell will sign for Blackburn on a permanent deal after a fee of around £600k was agreed with Rangers for the sale of the 26-year-old.
Ianis Hagi update
And to round things off, Rangers attacking midfielder Ianis Hagi seems no closer to exiting the club on deadline day.
Philippe Clement doesn’t want Hagi to be a part of his plans this season at Ibrox with Hagi playing his football in the B-team.
Hagi turned down a move to Rapid Bucharest this week as Rangers await further offers. There is still a chance, according to the Daily Record, that Hagi’s Rangers contract could be terminated.
